You Can Quote Me, I Mean, Them

by Staff Writer

The NEXT American Revolution,
Where We, the People of the United States of America (at least, those of us registered to vote on November 7),
Begin making the great necessary changes to our money-logged, boondoggled, backbone bereft political system,
By voting for the candidate of your choice…

So long as they are NOT a Republican or a Democrat,
I offering the following:

Some folks say, “Don’t throw your vote away! Vote for the GOOD Republican, or the GOOD Democrat! I say…

“If you always do what you’ve always done,
You’ll always get what you’ve always got.
• Dr. Phil

Some folks say, “You can’t change things all at once, vote a few out of office this time around, and a few more in a couple of years. I say…

“It doesn’t work to leap a twenty-foot chasm in two ten-foot jumps.â€?
• American proverb

Some folks say, “This two party system is just fine. In time, new faces will arise and clean up out all the corruption and arrogance. I say…

“They say that time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself.
• Andy Warhol

“Some folks say, “The election is too close. I’m not prepared. Now just isn’t a good time to try and fix this broken system. I say…

“How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.
• Anne Frank

Some folks say, “My vote doesn’t matter. I don’t want to be one of the only people trying to change our morally bankrupt system this way. I say…

“Never doubt that a small, group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.
• Margaret Mead

Some folks say, “This NEXT American Revolution thing could really shake things up in Washington. What if the new people I vote for have a hard time of it? I say…

“We are not to expect to be translated from despotism to liberty in a featherbed.
• Thomas Jefferson

“Some folks say, “Politics is politics, and voting for all NON-Democratic and NON-Republican candidates won’t change anything. I say…

“We know what we are, but know not what we may be.
• William Shakespeare

So I say again,
Give it a shot!
You don’t pull the strings in Washington, or in the “halls of power around this country (or you probably wouldn’t be reading this blog ☺), but you can VOTE to make a change!
You can’t offer a Republican or Democratic candidate anything powerful enough to FORCE them to change the very system that elected and protects them form US, BUT your VOTE FOR ANY OTHER CANDIDATE MIGHT PROVE TO BE A POWERFUL FORCE in Washington!

The NEXT American Revolution is overdue. Don’t be fooled again!

Make this the year you helped save a nation from falling further and further from the grace its founders envisioned.

Talk about a variety of supportive quotations! I’m impressed!

As I sit and stare at my Sample Ballot (thankfully it does not stare back…that would be rude) your written words run through my mind because I really do like your premise! The R’s and D’s all make my stomach turn yet I’m left with the feeling that if I follow my gut instinct, which is something I really do try to do as my gut usually ends up being correct, I fear that I’ve wasted my vote. Then I realize that I would be doing that if I checked off that R or D box, too. However, I do believe I would leave the voting booth with a great deal of pride for doing the right thing, a feeling I usually do not feel on election day. I usually feel a sense of dread!

Sorry for the length of my blurb to your blog! To sum it up, I’ll dust off my musket and join this Revolution and watch the hoped for Evolution in future second-Tuesday-of-November’s yet to come!

    BTW…it bears repeating…GREAT QUOTES!

  2. Tim Says:

    Kim,

Wow, thanks for the encouraging words!

    And welcome to the fight!!

I understand your qualms (isn’t that a great word?), and appreciate your resolve. If the R’s and D’s are making your stomach turn, then you MUST follow that gut instinct, and quit playing in that rigged game!!

Your stomach, and your country will thank you for it :-)

    Now, next step…

Like a Faberge commercial, I ask you to tell two friends… and so on and so on. We only have a matter of days to make a difference, and a whole lot of communicating to do!

If you’ll eMail them the address, http://www.statecraftinformer.com, and tell ‘em to pass it along, we may yet conduct The NEXT American Revolution successfully!

BTW: re quotes… I’ve always believed past wisdom can light the way to a brighter future… If we use it today!

Thanks again, and Up The Rebels!
